Old Missouri Bank Privacy Statement & U.S. Patriot Act Information for Our Customers


Old Missouri Bank is required by federal law to provide this statement to you when you open an account and annually thereafter. We firmly believe that maintaining the confidentiality of our customer’s information is essential to our customer relationship. We promise that we will protect your confidential information as set forth in this Privacy Statement. We understand that you expect the personal information that we have collected to be handled with utmost care.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect and retain information about you only when we reasonably believe that the information will assist us in managing your accounts and services and in providing products, services and other opportunities to you. Some of the reasons that we collect information about you include:

  • To protect your account and identify you when conducting transactions for you.
  • To comply with certain laws and regulations which apply to us as a financial institution.
  • To provide information that will help us improve our products or provide new services.

When you visit our website, we may use standard software to collect and store information for security and statistical purposes. The information may include: the date and time our site was accessed, keywords you may have used to access our site, IP (Internet Protocol) address given to servers connected to our site, the pages you visit and the city, state and country from which you access our site. Visitors to our web site may also provide information to us via e-mail. This information is used internally to handle the sender’s request and/or communicate with you. Any information collected in this manner is not shared with other organizations.

We collect nonpublic personal information about you from applications or other forms you provide us in the course of business, from transactions that you complete or credit bureau reports obtained in order to provide a service. Examples of nonpublic personal information may include information regarding your account balance, debit card use and payment history.

HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION

Old Missouri Bank does not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as necessary to provide OMB services or as otherwise permitted or required by law. Please feel confident that any medical information we may have obtained from insurance applications will not be provided to any business partner or to any employee without a need to know.

We are permitted to disclose nonpublic information about you to third parties in certain circumstances. We share this information only with companies that work for us to provide you services such as printing checks or providing data processing. These companies that act on our behalf are obligated by contract to maintain the information they receive in a confidential manner. They are not permitted to use the information for any other purpose.

There are other instances where we provide information:

  • When you authorize us to release information;
  • To credit reporting agencies;
  • To other parties when it is necessary or helpful in completing a transaction you initiate, including other financial institutions and networks involved in processing your transactions;
  • To comply with a law, regulation, court order or subpoena;
  • In response to an inquiry about whether a check you have written on an account will clear;
  • To local, state and federal authorities if we believe a crime involving your account may have been committed;
  • To our independent auditors, consultants or attorneys and to agencies that regulate us.

From time to time we may disclose information that we have collected to companies or vendors that perform services on our behalf. Please be assured your personal information will never be “sold” and any companies providing these services contractually agree not to use the information for purposes other than those specified in the agreement.

At Old Missouri Bank our security procedures include employee training about the importance of maintaining confidentiality of customer information. All employees are required to sign a pledge of confidentiality when they are hired and periodic training sessions reinforce this pledge. Protection of customer information includes secure physical storage procedures, security devices, the use of passwords and electronic techniques. Information that has previously been collected and is no longer needed is disposed of in a manner that will provide protection of your information. The confidentiality of your Old Missouri Bank financial information is important to each and every employee.

At this time we do not share any information with affiliates. If it is necessary to change our privacy procedures we will notify you prior to making any change.

PROTECTING CHILDREN ON-LINE

Old Missouri Bank does not intentionally market to children, particularly those under the age of 13. In the event we receive personal information from a child whom we know to be under 13, we will only use the information to respond directly to the child or seek parental consent.

U.S. PATRIOT ACT

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you. We will also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.

Old Missouri Bank is participating in the FDIC’s Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under that program, through December 31, 2010, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC’s general deposit insurance rules.
